Evolutionary Legacy in the Modern World: Conscious Breathing as a Path to Restoring Natural Vitality
For many millions of years, humans were hunters and gatherers, walking many kilometers every day in search of food. Now, for only about 10,000 years, we’ve been trying to settle in one place.
We’ve dedicated ourselves to agriculture and farming. Times are accelerating, and today, we mostly sit. The way our body looks is the result of millions of years of evolution and is closely connected to the daily hours of walking.
But walking involves much more.
When we walk or run, we naturally breathe better, we support our circulation, digestion, and we massage our internal organs. Our life energy – chi – becomes naturally active. In motion, we also process our emotions more easily.
In the 10,000 years since, our nervous system hasn’t yet had time to adequately respond or change our body, even as we spend long hours bent over in the fields or, more commonly now, sitting for hours at a time.
We live in a time when we don’t have to do anything!
Water flows from the tap, heat is controlled by turning a knob on the radiator, and food is delivered right to our door. Our work is online.
We are no longer driven by the fear of predators or hunger, and when we don’t want to leave the chair, we simply don’t have to.
Exercise to Increase Energy:
This breathing technique can be done anytime and almost anywhere during the day. It will bring you a lot of energy. This technique will help you become present in the moment and balance your energy. (It will give you more energy but also calm you down.)
Procedure:
Breathe into your diaphragm, into your stomach, lower abdomen, lower back, chest, under your collarbones, into your throat, into your head, and into an imaginary funnel above your body.
Breathe in golden or rainbow-colored light. Don’t be discouraged if it seems difficult at first. Riding a bike or swimming also seemed challenging at first.
And if it still feels hard, come and learn this or much more offline, in person.
